Residents of Gratwick house can expect staff to behave towards them in a courteous manner, which recognises them as equals. Each resident has the right to: -

• Be called by their preferred name
• Feel safe in their environment
• Confidentiality in every area of their life
• Voice grievances without fear of reprisal
• Maintain as much autonomy as their condition allows
• Have access to personal records
• Where possible to be involved in planning their care
• Be free from illegal constraint
• Participate in social activities if they wish
• Observe their spiritual beliefs and practises
• Keep and use personal belongings
• Be attended to in private and with dignity
• Expect staff to knock before entering their room
• Die with dignity, not alone or in fear
• Have access to reports in the home
